 Highlands Doors and Windows,
Etc. was brought to life as Highlands Hardware in
1981 by Mike Bryson. Jack Taylor purchased the business in 1984 when Mike
decided to pursue a career in earth moving and heavy equipment rental. John Bauknight came on board in late 1984 as a partner with Jack specializing in the
logistical and personnel aspects of the building supply business. John became
the single shareholder in 1994 and enjoyed much success until he decided it was
time to slow down in 2003. John implemented a strategy to downsize so more
service could be brought to quality products. John retired and sold the business
to Derek Taylor (Jack's son) in 2005 when the name was changed to better reflect
our new mission.
Derek has operated Highlands Decorating Center successfully
since 1985. Phil Potts, our manager, has worked with the company since the
1980s and is well versed in all aspects of the building business. Trudy Rogers
our in house accountant has been at Highlands Doors and Windows since 1998 and
worked for Jack at the Perry Insurance Agency in 1977. Everyone employed at HDWE
grew up in Highlands and is active in preserving and enhancing the lifestyle
unique to Highlands. We have a vested interest in or community and our
reputation is important to us, that's why you will receive the best service we
can provide. We are ready help you make your home a part of the Highlands
community.
